Exclusion Zone
A photographic project made possible through the Joan Wakelin bursary (Royal Photographic Society & The Guardian) and an artist residency with Visual Studies Workshop, New York.
This project focuses on Montserrat, a Caribbean island devastated by a series of volcanic eruptions from 1995, which left 80% of the island uninhabitable.
With a current population of just over 4000 people, Montserrat is one of the least populus countries in the world.
This series documents the legacy of the “Exclusion Zone,” where remnants of the island’s former infrastructure and culture lie buried.
